FOOTBALL PLAYERS SPONSOR SAT/ACT SCHOLARSHIPS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

After Receiving Tens of Thousands of Letters From Service Members World-Wide, A Group of NFL, NFL Europe, AFL, and CFL Football Players Extend & Enhance Their Sponsorship of $200 SAT/ACT Training to All Families in The Armed Forces.

Los Angeles California, September, 2006 After Receiving Tens of Thousands of Letters From Service Members World-Wide, A Group of NFL, NFL Europe, AFL, and CFL Football Players Extend & Enhance Their Sponsorship of $200 SAT/ACT Training to All Families in The Armed Forces. For the second year, these players have sponsored several million dollars worth of $199 SAT and ACT test prep programs to every family in the U.S. Military (all branches—active or retired). Specifically, the sponsorship allows any military person (active or retired) to request as many programs as they need for the students in their lives-for example a military uncle can use his military status to order a program(s) for the students in his extended family back home—any military person can request a program to help any student in his or her life. To have access to the sponsorship the person placing the request must be military (active or retired). The Department of Defense has created a secure website to quickly confirm a person’s military status. Personnel can access the confirmation and request pages through several military related associations and organizations, including: The National Military Families Association, The Military Impacted School Association, The Military Child Education Collation, The Department of Defense Military Student website (www.MilitaryStudent.org), and the Military Home Front website for families (www.militaryhomefront.dod.mil), all have access to confirm military status and process the order. Programs ship to domestic U.S. addresses and APO addresses. The sponsorship covers the regular purchase price of $199 and the family pays only the S&H. The programs have a one-year license and are intended for the sole individual use of students on their personal home or laptop computer and are not intended for group or classroom instruction through the schools. Requests to receive the sponsored program can be placed now on the website or over the phone.

A Sampling of Letters Received
"My friend, Kristine, purchased this program and she went from an 1800 on a practice test to a 2360 on the actual SAT! (IVY LEAGUE!) She was telling me about the program a few months back and ... I jumped at the opportunity to get a program for myself." -Raymond Castillo

"This is our second time ordering the donated program -- first child is in college. He took the SAT and did very well, thanks in great part to the SAT CD from eKnowledge. Thank you for making this available to us. We appreciate it very much." -Kevin Paddock

About The SAT/ACT Power Prep DVD/CD-ROM Programs
The SAT & ACT test prep training programs come in either a single DVD or two CD-ROM sets and includes more than eleven (11) hours of training video and 25-40 hours of student participation—They can be used as a stand-alone complete course or as a supplement to other SAT & ACT prep materials. The students select the training they most need and can study at their own pace by picking which of the 120 video lessons they want to view. The program also provides progress tracking and much more

How Military Families Request The $199 Programs
A military person visits http://www.militaryhomefront.dod.mil to confirm their military status through the secure Department of Defense main Database. That website will then forward the person to the sponsorship order page where they can request the programs. The sponsorship will cover the $199.99 cost for the program. The families pay only the s/h of $9.95.

CLIMB ABOARD THE SNOWBALL EXPRESS
NEXT STOP…DISNEYLAND, CA

San Juan Capistrano, CA – Homefront America, Inc., proudly announces it has teamed up with The Snowball Express, an organization who has been providing extraordinary and memorable holiday experiences – in ways one cannot begin to imagine - to children who have lost a parent or loved one since 1998.
This December, The Snowball Express, a joint project between the M. Scott Kerr Foundation and the Rotary Club of Costa Mesa, California will once again take flight with Michael Kerr, resident of Orange County and founder of The Snowball Express at the cockpit.
The Snowball Express will provide a holiday experience for every child who has lost a parent while serving in our military forces during the Afghanistan and Iraq conflict. The project will sponsor each child and his/her surviving parent or guardian from throughout the country to Orange County for a three day magical holiday party extravaganza and trip to Disneyland.

The project does not receive any public funds. It is made possible strictly through the generosity of private businesses and organizations. The following is a partial listing of these sponsors.
« Southwest Airlines – Transportation for the children and their parent/guardian.
« Disneyland – Admission to the “Happiest Place on Earth.”
« Oakley – Hosting the event at their facility in Foothill Ranch; and the South Orange County Community College District has offered the use of their 30,000 s.f. hanger at the old Tustin Air Station for any overflow.
« Dave and Buster’s at the Block in Orange – Hosting one of the event’s breakfasts.
« Quicksilver - Providing each child with a backpack filled with goodies.

So…How Can You Help?
« Help us to spread the word to qualifying families, Family Readiness Group Coordinators and other Military Outreach Ministries, Base Chaplains, Church groups, your local civic and media organizations.
« Help take a local family to and from the airport, feed their pet(s), and watch their home in their absence.

« Host an out of town family by welcoming them into your home
« Donate your frequent flyer or frequent stay coupons to an out of town family
« Donate a NEW unwrapped gift to these deserving children
« If you have a talent or know of a celebrity or entertainer that would like to bring some laughter and joy to these children, please by all means, let us know.
« For other ways to help, or more information regarding The Snowball Express, please visit the organization’s website at www.snowballexpress.org or contact Michael Kerr at 949-633-0459.

“We are truly humbled and honored to be a part of this extraordinary event.” Said Arthur R. Hasselbrink, President and CEO of Homefront America. “Mike refers to himself as just some ordinary guy with a million flaws.” “Somehow, the word ordinary just does not enter into my head when speaking of Mike Kerr.”

Homefront America is a sister organization of The Snowball Express dedicated to serving our Troops by supporting their families at the Homefront in their time of need. For additional information, you may visit the organization’s website at www.homefrontamerica.org.
